Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Pampa Melchorita shipped a total of 6 cargoes during the first month of the year, hitting a milestone in the process.

The fifth cargo of the month shipped onboard the LNG carrier Macoma to France on January 25 was also the facility’s 500th cargo since operations started in June 2010. In total, the facility has so far shipped 501 cargoes.

Data from the state-owned Perupetro shows that this is one cargo more compared to January 2018.

Out of the six cargoes, two landed in South Korea, two at the Gate LNG terminal in the Dutch port of Rotterdam and one each in China and France.

In terms of volumes, the six cargoes added to a total of 893,838 cubic meters for the first month, which compared to 751,399 cubic meters exported in January 2018.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
