China’s imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) rose in April as the country continued its switch from coal to natural gas as fuel for heating.
China imported 3.39 million tonnes of LNG last month, up 56.5 percent year-on-year, according to the General Administration of Customs data.
These imports rose 0.14 million tonnes when compared to the previous month.
In total, the country’s LNG imports rose 58.3 percent in the January-April period to 15.75 million tonnes, the data showed.
