Marine engineering company FKAB said that the third LNG-fueled vessel out of six ordered by the Gothia Tanker Alliance has been delivered.
The 16,3000 DWT vessel named Thun Venern is equipped with batteries and dual fuel engines for LNG operation and features ice class 1A, and is owned by Thun Tankers.
FKAB developed the vessel concept named FKAB T24C1 with the alliance member Furetank and the basic design and detail design has been delivered to the Avic Dingheng shipyard.
Vessel number four will be delivered during 2018 and the final two vessels during 2019, FKAB said.
Partners in the Swedish Gothia Tanker Alliance, Furetank, Älvtank and Erik Thun. Out of the six vessels on order Furetank has three, Älvtank two and Thun Tankers one.
Furetank Chartering in the Gothia Tanker Alliance will be the commercial manager of the newbuilds.
