Image courtesy of SaipemItalian oil and gas contractor, Saipem has reportedly snagged a deal to provide FEED services for Tortue LNG facility offshore Africa.
Citing a source close to the matter, Reuters reports the deal worth €3 million ($3.47 million) could lead to a larger contract worth up to €75 million.
The project is being led by the UK-based BP, would include a construction of a 2.5 mtpa LNG export project in the first phase of development, with potential for expansion to 10 million tons annually.
The feed gas would come from the Tortue discovery made by Kosmos, offshore Mauritania and Senegal with an estimated resource of over 25 trillion cubic feet of gas.
KBR has already been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract by BP for Phase 1 of the Tortue field hub/terminal development.
In April this year, TechnipFMC secured a contract by BP for the development of the FPSO front-end engineering design (FEED) for the LNG project while Golar LNG signed a preliminary deal to provide an FLNG unit for the project.
