Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from the United States increased for the third week in a row with seven cargoes shipped in the week ending October 31.
Data from the United States Energy Information Administration shows that seven LNG tankers left the two exporting facilities during the week under review, hauling a total of 24.5 Bcf of the chilled fuel.
Five tankers left Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG export facility in Louisiana between October 25 and October 31, with one tanker with a 3.8 Bcf capacity loading at the plant on Wednesday, October 31.
The two cargoes exported from the Cove Point terminal near Lusby, Maryland, were the first exports since the facility resumed LNG production after three weeks of scheduled maintenance that was completed in mid-October.
EIA noted in its weekly natural gas report that the natural gas feedstock to both Sabine Pass and Dominion’s Cove Point LNG terminal averaged 3.8 Bcf/d during the week under review, compared to 3.7 Bcf/d last week.
EIA further noted, citing Bloomberg, that the first cargo from Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG facility in Texas is expected during the middle of this month as commissioning activities continue.
