Polish LNG terminal operator, Polskie LNG, said it has reached a milestone at the President Lech Kaczyński facility in Świnoujście.
The operator said the facility loaded 24 tank trucks with liquefied natural gas in one day.
“This amounts to the volume of energy generated from 1000 tons of hard coal,” the company said in a brief statement through its social media channels.
The milestone was reached just days after the facility received its 45th cargo, onboard the 210,200-cbm Q-Flex LNG carrier Al Sheehaniya, which is owned by Nakilat and chartered to Qatargas.
At the end of last month, Polskie LNG said it is about to award contracts for the expansion of the facility that would see the addition of the third tank, additional process systems increasing the regasification capacity and the railway siding.
Railway project which entails the construction of a new railway siding (3-track with railroad switches and approach track) together with complete facilities for LNG-to-rail and ISO-containers transshipment service comprising 12 LNG filling stations.
