Adriatic LNG, the operator of the regasification terminal located off the Italian Veneto coast secured a peak shaving cargo to be unloaded at the facility in the second half of October.

The operator did not unveil the name of the bidder that was awarded the slot to deliver a cargo of 70,000 cubic meters.

The volumes will be made available to Snam Rete Gas, Italy’s natural gas infrastructure operator from January 1, 2019, until March 31, 2019.

Should any of the volumes delivered remain unused they will be returned in April to the market operator that won the tender to deliver the cargo.

Operating since 2009, the Adriatic LNG regasification terminal caters to 10 percent of Italy’s national gas consumptions.

The facility takes LNG deliveries from Qatar, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea, Norway, Nigeria and the United States.

Adriatic LNG is co-controlled by units of ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum and participated by Snam.
