Houston-based Commonwealth LNG has filed in its draft Resource Report 13 to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the proposed LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The 8.4 mtpa LNG export plant will be located on the western shore at the mouth of the Calcasieu Ship Channel.

“With the submission of draft Resource Report 13 to the FERC, Commonwealth LNG continues to actively progress the development of its export facility,” said Paul Varello, president and CEO of Commonwealth Projects.

The FERC’s final acceptance of the application is expected in early April of 2019.

Commonwealth LNG expects to start operations at the plant in the first quarter of 2024.

It has already awarded a consulting services job to Mammoet USA South, a heavy lifting and transport technology specialist, and has selected TechnipFMC, Lloyd Engineering and CH-IV for engineering services and the development of the marine facility and turning basin design as well as the development of the formal Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) application for the 6-train, 1-berth LNG export plant.
