Polish gas transmission operator, Gaz-System, expects the Swinoujscie LNG terminal’s expansion to be completed by the end of 2022.
The company’s development director, Pawel Jakubowski said the works on expanding the terminal’s capacity from 5 billion cubic meters to 7.5 billion cubic meters are set to start before the end of this year or early 2019, Reuters reports.
He also noted that the expansion costs are expected to be in a range of €100 to €200 million ($123.6 to 247.2 million).
During last year, the utilization of the terminal’s regasification capacity was at 30 percent, however, Jakubowski said the 2018 utilization is expected to be at 60 percent.
In addition to the terminal expansion, Gaz-System expects to reach a final investment decision on the Baltic Pipeline project in late 2018. The pipeline would have a 10 billion cubic meters capacity and is expected to be completed in 2022.
