The 173,400-cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Patris was recently delivered to its owners by shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea.
The LNG vessel was ordered back in 2015 by a joint venture comprising of “K” Line LNG Shipping, a unit of the Japanese shipping major ‘K’ Line, and Greek shipowner Chandris.
The order also included a sister vessel named Kinisis.
The duo has been chartered by the UK-based energy giant BP that is planning to use the vessels to transport cargoes from the Freeport LNG export project in the United States.
Below, you can find a video by “K” Line LNG Shipping of the construction and delivery of the Polaris.
