Greece-based LNG tanker operator TMS Cardiff Gas ordered two new liquefied natural gas newbuilds to further expand its fleet.

The company placed the order for the LNG carrier duo at the South Korean Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard, according to TMS Cardiff Gas website.

Both vessels will be capable of transporting 174,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel in GTT’s Mark III Flex containment system, as well as the dual-fuel engines.

Delivery for both XDF LNG carriers has been set to 2020, the data shows.

The new order extends the LNG shipping company’s fleet of managed vessels to twelve.

The order follows a similar one placed in January for a vessel that will enter into a seven-year time charter contract with Total Gas & Power Chartering, a unit of the French energy giant after delivery in 2020.
