Australian LNG major Woodside evacuated all personnel from its offshore production platforms and is operating the Karratha gas plant and Pluto LNG plant using essential staff only due to severe weather.

The company said it is closely monitoring the impact of tropical cyclone Veronica, which was located approximately 95 kilometers east northeast of Karratha.

The Pilbara Ports Authority, in its brief statement, noted that the ports of Ashburton, Dampier and Port Hedland ceased all operations on Friday, March 22, 2019, and remain closed.

Woodside further said it will return to full operations of its production facilities once the immediate risks have passed.
